  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

picking ophelia up from spay....nervous.

New Kit
Just shortwave my house to pick up my first and only bunny from her spay. Really nervous as I know what to expect from all the information I have read on here but I think I'll be upset with her being a poorly girl and if I struggle to get her to eat. Hoping she has as easy a recovery as possible. The other half thinks I'm mad for feeling like this. Especially when I have refused to go out this weekend. Wish me luck. I know you have all been through the same thing

Thank you f poo r the well wishes. She seems . A lot more bright than I thought she would be. She has eaten about one spring green leaf, a small handful of parsley, two strawberries and two slices of banana. She has nibbled some hay but I can't see she has touched any pellets. Does this seem normal? the vet told me to call them today if she hadn't eaten. I know she has eaten but I'm concerned because she hasn't eaten too much of her normal diet. Also there have been about10-15 poops. Should I be worried? Thank you
