  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

:thumb: Good work going straight to the vet.... vibes for you bun buns, they like to worry us don't they!!

It could be the heat... my Ted just had a mild bout of stasis last week, the vet said most likely he'd just got far too hot and it made him feel poorly. Hope they're back to themselves soon x

Oh no :( Hope it's nothing serious and they're home tomorrow. Glad they're together at the vets. Sending lots of vibes for Beauty xx

Bunnies are now home

Phoned the vets this morning and spoke to the Nurse who said that Beauty was feeling better, as she had started eating more on her own so they had stopped feeding her with the syringe. She was also kicking back at them when they giving her the medication she needed. The vet checked her over this morning and they said that they could come home.
Collected them at 12 today they are getting used to being back home, but so far neither of them have eaten much they just checking everything is still where they left it.
She is on Zantac 3 times and day and Metecam once a day, she has to go back on Monday night to see the vet to have another check up.
Hopefully she will start tucking into her hay tonight. We just have to keep a close eye on her and give her lots of love and attention to help her get through this.
Thanks for all the vibes and please continue sending them as she still needs them.
