I know this is from 2010 but why would someone do this?

:cry::cry:

And she only got six months or a £20,000 fine (at the most) :shock:

Sentences for animal-cruelty related crimes are wayyy too slack. It's a fact that a lot of serial killers start with killing animals. And if someone can do something like this to an animal, they can sure as hell do it to a human too.

I completely agree.

In good news New York passed a bill that requires animal abusers to register as such, similar to how sex offenders register: http://www.pawnation.com/2013/07/01/new-york-creates-firstever-animal-abuser-registry/ :thumb:

From the article:
Senator Greg Ball of Patterson, who sponsored the bill, addressed this very point:

Persons who commit crimes against animals represent some of the worst kind of people, and often expand their carnage to their neighbors and the larger community. Most people can agree that the level of respect and kindness shown for animals - creatures who cannot speak for themselves, or protect themselves and are easily abused and taken advantage of - is a fine predictor of how a person will treat their peers.
