Cat furniture & scratchers for bunny?

Persie

Warren Scout
Hi all

I was hoping for some advice on cat furniture for my bunny who loves jumping on top of things so I think he would really enjoy these! I was just wondering if anyone has these for their bunnies and which is best to get? Its hard to judge the size as I would like the top bit to be big enough for him to lay on & stretch out. I hope I'm making sense

I had a look on Argos and liked the look of a few of these:

I'm not sure if the top would be big enough for him to stretch out and also the holes, if he would fit in?

Again would the top be big enough?

Is this one maybe too high for a bunny?

my two have a cat tree, I had to turn the top platform a bit as obviously they can't claw their way up like a cat would but they're using the top level with ease :) I tie branches to a hook I have in the roof of the shed and they have to climb to the top to be able to eat it. I like to think it gives them some more natural behaviour as wild rabbits have to contend with hills and mounds :)

I use cardboard boxes, Get from supermarket they let you have them, as they are of no use to them once they have emptied them. all sizes. cut holes in the bottom in and out. different heights side by side. Rabbit will hop up and down go in and sleep, chew the holes bigger. Add extra boxes till your room is full. then you will never know where the rabbit is

Thanks for your comments :D It's great to know you rabbits enjoy using the cat tree so I'm sure my hyper bunny will too :D and the idea with the cardboard boxes I will also try this :D

Bunnies don't care about style, so cardboard boxes are a good free alternative, you can tape a couple of sturdy ones together and mine love them. The only concern I would have with the cat tree is the height of the top level, if a rabbit were to fall off it could hurt itself.

I have also had success using NIC panels to create some platforms, for the top level I caged off the highest point, so they have to step down in manageable levels.

Hope that give you some ideas. :)

I tried a cupboard box & he nibbled a bit out of the corner and hasn't went near it since :? my partner said he's high maintenance like me ;) I have also turned a plastic tub upside down with a fleece blanket on top which he seems to love, he's jumped on and off it plenty of times. Also think I'm going to get him this.......

It's not too high but not too low so will be a challenge for him without hurting him if he slips :)
