  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit savvy vet - Hatfield (Herts)

Young Bun
Can anyone recommend one? I've seen several recommendations for Redbourn and Watford, I don't mind the travelling, but I'd be worried its too far in an emergency, as both can be a nightmare to get to in rush hour, plus the car stresses them out.

I'm currently registered with a local vet, and although happy enough with the care recieved so far, I'm not 100% convinced they fully 'get' how precious my bunnies are if that makes sense? Any recommendations greatly appreciated x

Hi there

The only one i can recommend in your area would be Guy Carter at Medivet in North Watford.

It may not be of use to you, but certainly I would trust him with my rabbits

Thanks, I'm so torn on the best thing to do, after today's drama (see my other post) I wish I was with a vet who had some ounce of knowledge, but at the same time, I doubt my boy would have been at all well after a long drive to Watford :-/
Saw a different vet at my surgery and she was much much better, so will only ask to see her in future
