  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit Savvy Vet - Staffordshire

My OH and I will be moving to Staffordshire area within the next few months, most likely Kidsgrove.

We are really worried about finding a good rabbit savvy vet for our six bunnies and one guinea pig, especially as one is a snuffles bunny and one can be a little stasis prone.

We would be grateful for any recommendations before we commit to moving.

Thanks

If I were you I would be straight to Molly Varga at Cheshire pet in Holmes chapel, that's not far from there and she is one of the best qualified bunny vets in the country :)

Thank you!

I noticed on their website they are not open on Sundays and I'm not sure whether either of you will be able to answer this, but what is the out of hours service like/where is it based?

I only ask because our current vets is open on a Sunday and it has been a life saver!

No idea, sorry! Not many vets are open at the weekend so I suspect you'll have a similar problem in most places. I'd suggest giving them a ring to ask what their arrangements are and whether their normal exotic vets are confident that they can treat bunnies successfully out of hours.
