Poor wild rabbit with shope papilloma virus*upsetting*

It has a virus called shope papilloma virus. It looks like it has spikes growing out of its head. It will eventually starve to death. I have never seen a rabbit with this before. Can't believe someone is filming it and calling it Frankenstein rabbit. Please god let someone catch it and put it out of its misery

It looks awful, but I suspect it looks worse than it is (at the moment, as long as the bunny can still eat and drink). If it was in terrible pain it wouldn't last long, as we all know what happens with bunnies in pain.

That is so sad.
I hope they manage to catch it, so it doesn't starve to death. Poor thing.

The poor darling.

I wish that someone who loves bunnies could catch, care for and when the time is right make the decision for the bunny to be put to sleep.

I hate the thought of it starving to death.



I've never seen such a condition. Truly horrendous.

I've seen that in humans but didn't think it existed in animals... God love the wee thing....

I hope someone can help him before things get worse,,,,

Shope fibroma is actually the virus from which they used to make the "old" myxi vaccine - it was cross immunity from this disease which gave the myxi protection.
