saw something sad today :(

There are wildies in the grounds at my work. Saw a dead one today. It was really strange though, I couldn't see any injury (though I didn't pick it up), it was as if it had just fallen in mid binky - I thought when bunnies were ill, they usually went away and hid. This was out on an open bit of grass. I can't figure out how it might have died. Anyone have any ideas?

perhaps shock?
Maybe something was chasing it?

I often see wildies hopping around there, so it did shake me a bit at the time but I'm fine now. After all, compared to rabbits farmed for their fur or meat (and even I suppose a lot of pet rabbits) wildies have a wonderful life

VHD is a sudden killer, hopefully it wasn't that. maybe it got hit but on the other side of it, or internal injuries.
