  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What should I expect with the neutering process......

I know the vets will go through it with me but will I need to give meds when hes home. What should he sit on?? etc

When my bridge bunny Muffin was neutered we weren't given any meds home he had them at vet, also we covered his hutch in a soft blanket to lie on and put his hay in a little tub so he couldn't get it everywhere (his wound). Also gave him a bowl of water because he couldn't seem to be bothered with the bottle! That was basically all we done differently except checking on him etc! Good luck for Wednesday, I'm sure it'll go fine

Thank you :) Im a bit nervous for him x

Yeah I'd say "don't worry" but I was a nervous wreck when Muffin was in  I'm sure he'll be fine though, also remember prepare him a wee buffet of his favourite foods in case he's picky or not wanting to eat after! (we never had this problem, Muffin never turned his nose up at food :lol:)
