Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Estelle's having an x-ray. U/D post 56 2.7.2013

Mrs. Bunnykins

Wise Old Thumper
Estelle has not been quite herself recently, but still doing all the things a bunny should do. However during the weekend I felt as if I was missing something. Could it be her age, the ever changing weather and different temperatures.....................or something else?

Well I took her to the vets this morning and the vet felt her bladder which seemed to be rather sensitive and most unlike Estelle...she sent a huge spray of wee over the vet, the floor and table!!!:oops: The vet thinks Estelle has some sort of squidgy growth in her bladder, but we will know more once her x-rays are taken.

I feel rotten that I haven't acted beforehand but bunnies are so stoic as we all know and Estelle is extraordinarily 'deep' and the most difficult bunny I have ever had to read when she is not quite 100%.

Any spare vibes would be appreciated.

Frankie, some toys, fresh hay and fresh herbs are also with Estelle.

Hopefully I will have more news later on this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

Thank you biscandmatt1, Kermit and Jane. :thumb: I think that it could well be a sludgy bladder. Times goes so slowly when you're waiting for a phone call. No doubt Frankie........Mr. Titchy Trousers is giving Estelle plenty of love and licks!!

Oh bless her, I hope you hear something soon. Is she at DeMontFort? N&T are at the Evesham branch today for Nena's operation, perhaps they're making friends!

Yes they are. Perhaps they are all waving to each other.....:wave:yoo hoo!!!!

I hope Nena's operation goes well. Both of us will be waiting for phone calls.

Aww, the wee lamb. You will have picked up something was wrong well before most so don't feel like you've left it too long. Like you say, they are stoics and we can't find problems as soon as we'd like.

I hope her day isn't too traumatic and the results are ok.

It'd be lovely if they could see each other! If not, I like to think they're communicating via thumping! Tapla likes to hold entire conversations via this medium, perhaps Estelle/Frankie will enjoy the noise?!

There's never a longer wait than waiting for the vets to ring!

Loads of vibes! Hope she gets better soon, tell her to stop being such a hero and accept help from her Mama more.

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes.:thumb:

Estelle.............and Frankie are back home safe and sound. :D It seems that Estelle has a sludgy bladder so to try and help her the vet has put her on a dose of 1ml of baytril every 12 hours. Only hay and grass to eat and hopefully this will help clear her out.

Both Estelle and Frankie have healthy diets which consists of grass, hay a few ss pellets and a small amount of herbs in the early evening. Paws crossed here that she manages to clear this out of her system.

What a worry!!!!!

Once again, thank you for your concern.
