  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

update on emergency

Mama Doe
been to emergency vet tonight as mum accidently fed a poisonous plant (forest flame)to the trio- daisy stopped eating and was hunched and trembling. they others are fine. she has had fluids, gut stimulants and painmeds but cold i have vibes as it could go either way tonight. she has perked up and eaten since we got back. she is with her sisters in my room where i can keep an eye through the night. her temp and heart rate had dropped alot so its been scary. they suggested keeping her overnight but i personally felt i could keep a better eye on her in her own surroundings as they said their might not be someone at the vets 24/7.

really need vibes as i want her to pull through!!!! she is only 1

well this morning she is eating and drinking fine- very perky. she is drinking more than usual but i think that is good as it should help flush out the toxins. she was waiting for rubs and attention when i got out of bed :love::love::love::love:

Aw, I am so pleased to hear she's doing well. Bless her and hoping you don't have anymore scares like that!
