Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Fly Spray advice?

BigBunnyBenji

Mama Doe
The rabbits are hiding inside their wendy house as it's tipping it down :(. I cleaned them out earlier but noticed a few flies hanging around which I'd much prefer weren't there.

Obviously I wouldn't go spraying stuff around with the rabbits present, but are there any particular sprays that could be harmful to them? Or the opposite, any rabbit safe bug sprays? Or any other methods of getting rid of them?

Any hints, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
The OH.

You could try sitcky strips as they work. I use horse fly replient (not directly on buns though) and spray the playhouse roof and run covers, works a treat at keeping flys away. I've also planted lots of lavender around my bunnies run too as this keeps flys away and smells lovely and they can eat it too!

To be honest, the best way is just to keep cleaning bunnies out as often as you can and make sure their bums are clean and dry : ))
