Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right section, didn't know where else to put it. I'm getting my rabbit castrated and needed to know if anyone has used this vets before, as they are new in my area (harlow), thanks for any replies :)

can't really help as don't know the harlow branch, but i have had several rabbits spayed/castrated at their hoddeson branch.I don't think any of their vets are actually rabbit specialists(though it might of changed now).sadly i lost 1 male under the anesthetic, but i wouldn't say it was anything they did wrong.their ware branch has also neutered loads of our cats over the past year.i found all the staff to be very helpfull and friendly.having used 2 of their branches i have seen the same vets in both locations,so not sure that the same vets work in the same location all the time.

as a family we use the forest vets at eastwick lodge, harlow.again the staff are very friendly and helpfull, but not sure they have any rabbit specialists either.they have also neutered rabbits for me as well as other ops on them, all with no problems.

I'm just very nervous about getting him done, as he will be the first rabbit I have had neutered. Is there any way of knowing if they are savvy?
