Laurel is a brown and white mini rex doe.
She came to HH in April 2008 with her mother and brother when she was about three month old. They were part of a large group of animals that had been abandoned.
HH took in nine rabbits and six guinea pigs from the most disgusting hutches ever seen. There was no bedding, just six inches of poo underneath their feet. There was only about eight inches of head room and the biggest hutch was only 30 inches wide.
They had no food and no water and it was an extremely hot day and some of the hutches were in direct sunlight.
Some of the animals were lethargic from the heat. Had it been later in the year they would have been dead.
Laurel had very poor digestion when she first came to HH and was very ill.
She had diarrhea and needed to be syringe fed. She recovered but has never been quite right. She is not as flowing and agile as she ought to be.
She is timid unless there is food about. She lives with Merlin.
