Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

poops

hi everyone, im just wondering if i shud worry or not.
my two 15 week old boy bunnies poops are regular in size and shape but vary in consistency, some are the crunchy hay filled gold nuggets everyone raves about. but i regularly find some in both the boys litter that are almost spongy, much darker brown inside and dont seem to have any visible strands of hay in at all :?
is this bad? hav the poops just been peed on? the boys seem otherwise fine, binkying away. as i type one is doing laps of the living room at breakneck speeds
the one thing i was thinking of is that they do eat a lot of cardboard, but i took away all the cardboard toys nd hav continued to find spongy poop.

their diet is:
a small amount of excel junior pellets a day (were on free feed but they got carried away)
lots of excel herbage timothy hay with dandelion
a sprinkle of excel meadow mix forage in with the hay
rarely hav veggies (usually baby spinach or carrot tops), some herbs (basil, rosemary)

so do i worry or no? thanks everybody xxxxx

i know its probably bad manners to bump ur own post but i didnt realise if i posted at nite noone wud c it lol!!! ah well u live u learn lol! sooooo... *SHAMELESS BUMP*

I find sometimes my buns poos are darker in the morning and then go lighter. Sometimes after morning vegs too. They will also be darker after eating grass. See If there is a pattern. If they are the same size and suddenly don't go smaller then I think he's fine. Small dark poos can also indicate, dentals, or GI probs.
