A new duckling!

Yesterday while in my room I heard a peeping and thought it must be one of my button quail but then I noticed Dill (my pekin duck) was looking at something at her feet so I go and look and there's a duckling there! One of Scout's (my muscovy) eggs hatched that morning apparently. Scout and Junie have been broody on and off since like Feb. but none of the eggs ever hatch.

Dill walked away and the duckling just stood there a bit out of reach under my bed, so I was like how am I going to reach it but then it walked right over to me as if it knew I was its mommy My heart literally melted <3 I'd been dying of cuteness overload lately since I've got 30 or 40 some ducklings in my yard (some of my feral muscovies had babies) so finally I can have a duckling of my own to snuggle and bond with After raising countless ducklings I'm still always so enamored by them and the bond between human and duckling. It's indescribable.

thanks, she is so sweet and cute I did a photoshoot in the yard with her, she liked playing with the grass lol. It was terrifying since I was out in the open with her (a hawk took my duckling once) so I barely took my hand off her at all but I managed to get some good shots
