What breed is he?

Young Bun
Sorry if this is in the wrong place I wasn't sure where it'd fit in!

Anyway, my rabbit Alfie is 3 years old and I've been stumped ever since I got him about what breed he could be. At the pet store I got him from I was told dwarf dutch/lion head cross. He is definitely not a dwarf- he is 2kg/4 ish lbs and I can't see any hint of a mane! I have taken 'what breed is your bunny?' quizzes online and one ended up with the breed Havana, but I'm not sure if I can trust those online things, so I thought i'd ask all you bunny experts. What breed would you say he was? Thanks in advance!

Here are quite a few pics to see different angles of him to help!:

Thanks again!

Can't help with the breed but he is gorgeous. I wouldn't say he was a dutch or lionhead, and I've never heard of a breed called a "dwarf dutch". I'm not brilliant with breeds so hopefully somebody can come along to help.

He's lovely

I'd say he is a bit of a mix, pet shop buns often are. I think he has dwarf lop in him (dwarf isn't actually a tiny breed, it's just the average size of rabbit really, mini lop is the teeny one!) and I can't rule out Dutch but I think it's unlikely as I think the colouring on a Dutch tends to show through if its in the genes (but not always) likewise with lion head. GrahamL on here has a beautiful lion head cross, you wouldn't believe it but he knew the mum who was a lionhead, Ginger does not share any lion head characteristics!

F you want it for insurance purposes I'd just choose dwarf lop, it seems the closest! :p

I agree with the dwarf lop. He has a bit of a squishy face like one.

The dwarf part actually refers to their ears. (I think!)

Could be dwarf lop, cross nethie dwarf with some other mixed heritage in there. In terms of the colour looks like Alfie may be a dark sooty fawn, maybe with a bit of Siamese smoke pearl or sable mixed in. He is gorgeous!

He is lovely. Here is an example of dutch x lionhead

I was told they were mini dutch x lionhead. They are now around 2kg and are 7 months old.

He is gorgeous.
Love his chunky face :love::love:
I think dwarf lop crosses have helicopter ears usually?
He is probably a lovely cross of a few breeds.
Anyway, I'd put the query to bed & just enjoy him:D

He looks like he has a lop face, from a pet shop he's likely a cross though he looks like a rabbit we had, same sort of face, it's a new breed and it's refereed to as bred for being house rabbits. I'm pretty sure it's sussex rabbit I'm thinking of.

I actually can't find the original page I found with a photo of one.

Thanks so much everyone for your replies, would have been much sooner but Alfie had to be taken to the vets with spikes on his teeth- AGAIN! Glad to say he is back home and recovered well!

I guess he is still a mystery but it's lovely to see how many people think he is gorgeous! :)

Thanks again everyone, much appreciated
