Problems with Bruce's nails :(

Bruce is so bad with getting his nails cut, he can't get it done at the vet as last time he freaked out and started kicking and screaming
I can trim off the ends so they're not pointy anymore but if I go any further the same happens, I also struggle because he's a Rex to see how far I can go

Any tips would be recommended?

I've tried wrapping him in a towel but he kicks out
 
Can you hold him any other time? Does he freak out when your clipping as he dont like the noise? xx
 
Well if he lets you trim the tips i guess you could just do the tips more often than you would give him a good clip? xx
 
My mini rex sounds like your bun!
Hates being picked up and nails are a nightmare.
Have you tried covering his eyes whilst he's wrapped in a towel?
This calms mine for about 20 seconds ! Enough for one nail!
Also, made a big difference taking him to an unusual room, bathroom in my case.
