Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

fur clumps on feet

Hi my two keep getting clumps of fur on their feet that are like a heavy molt clumped and attached. Fur is clean. They dont seem bothered. Have lots of exercise all through day. Is this ok? Havent had it before. Mattie.

So its nothing to worry about? That is a relief. They are due vets soon anyway to check weight etc but was wondering if should bring forward.

My late tri coloured lop Rio used to get a clump of matted fur on one of his big back feet, the first time it happened ,he was at the vet getting claws trimmed and I thought it was a broken toe at first it was hard and solid and sticking out at an angle. The vet laughed and said it was just matted fur and promptly cut it off! I learned to trim his claws myself and his matted "Toe"

Sometimes the fur on the bottom is a bit rough/matt like. You need to be careful with trimming as it's the only protection their feet have as they don't have pads. If it's on the side/top that's fine to wip off but they might need the bits on the bottom. It's a bit hard to say which it is without a pic :)

No, nothing to worry about, Cookie is the queen of feet tufts!
Seriously she looks like she is sprouting a new foot!
If you can get to them easily and you are 100% certain it is all fur then you can juipt snip it off, just be careful not to cut too close to the skin!

Poppy used to get them right on the bottom off her paw so I didn't like to cut them as I thought she may get sore hocks. I just used to very gently tease the fur so that it wasn't a clump, I always thought it must feel so much better than hopping with a lump on her paw.
