  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Neutering/spay

sheps

Warren Scout
im soon getting a rabbit was just wondering how much a spay/ neuter will cost for boy/girl
thanks

Depends on vet

Depends mainly on vet but my vet was£51 for benji plus £30 because he had extra swelling and bowe was done via the rescue I got her from but if I did her at my vets it would be £63 + any extra medicine

But it can vary from £40-£100 depending on vet and you also need to plan in the cost if anything goes wrong

All of my bunnies were already neutered when I adopted them from a rescue, sorry I have no idea how much vets charge these days. Sorry I'm not much help.:oops::oops:

Perhaps ask the question in th rabbit chat section. I'm sure you'll get lots more replies.....and hopefully an idea of the prices. I do know though that the cost can vary from place to place.

Best of luck.

do you know where your getting your rabbit from, if not why not consider a rescue that way not only will you be helping a rescue out and rehoming an unwanted rabbit, but also many rescues already have neutered/speyed rabbits

I second this, there are some great rescues in Bristol that will have already neutered/spayed rabbits, saving you a cost. They also often have babies in I that's what you're after :thumb:

i suppose rescues are better because your giving them a second chance so far i cant find a rabbit that can be indoors as i live in a flat :/

Eh? I'm rescuing an outdoor rabbit who is coming to live indoors :) They will have their own room and can't freerange because of the dog but we passed the homecheck with flying colours :)

just reread that and it makes no sense sorry :/ , im looking for a small breed of rabbit , mini lop/ dwarf lop . my friend is gving me a hutch to put indoors not sure when i will be able to get it just looking around for the right rabbit really
