  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Please can anyone spare some vibes for Tinkerbell?

She has lost so much weight. She then started eating very slow, then stopped eating hay and grass, and has now stopped eating pellets. She is only eating veg, fruit and dandelions now. I took her to the vets as I predicted she had spurs. She does. I hope she's not going to end up with long term problems like her brother, Mischief, did. :(

She has been given pain relief and is booked in for a dental tomorrow. I am so worried. She is only 1.5kg. :( This will be her first dental. Please wish her luck and if you have any spare vibes they will be much appreciated.

hope the dental goes well, sure it will do and ts good she is still bright despite weiight loss, mabel used to have this as only symptom too weight loss, and look at mabel now, im sure tinks will be fine

All good vibes and prayers for wee Tinkerbell for a successful dental and speedy recovery! (((((((((Tink)))))))))
Mimzy doesn't get his dental till May 4, so he empathizes. Luckily he's only got the one spur, for him one is enough.

Hoping all goes well for you. :)

Thank you. The pain relief seems to have worked wonders and she's spent well over an hour free ranging and munching grass! :D Hopefully after her dental she will feel the same way about hay.
