Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit Savy Vet in Swindon????

Stufi

Alpha Buck
Hi All,

Having recently relocated to Swindon we were wondering whether there were any friends on here that could recommend a Bunny Savy vet as we need to take little Bruce in to get his (recurring) poorly eye looked at and meds.

We are in Upper Stratton but will travel (reasonabley) for the right Vet.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Stu

 Hi, & Welcome.
TBH I've yet to find much to recommend Swindon as a town, but there's some glorious countryside immediately to the South.

The exotics center is Great Western referrals & they'll be your normal vet for tricky rabbit problems. They can be a bit pricey.

I go to Thameswood vets main surgery Purton road, branch surgery Greenbridge - http://www.thameswoodvets.co.uk/index.php?idPage=62 where I see either Amy or Zoe.
It's owned by 2 vets who have an interest in improving rabbit care.
They aren't exotics certified but were wonderful with my bridge bun Thumper after GWR had done their best & my wonderful vet Marie left. (His gut slowly packed in.).
They've cared for my pasteurellosis bun Benjie all the way through. He's doing brilliantly. No more abscesses & snuffles free for 4 months now.
