Chelmsford Vet Recommend Please

Den

Mama Doe
After many questions recently I have finally got 2 beautiful Netherland Dwarf buns - Willow (Will) and Poppy from a local rescue. They are brother and sister and slowly losing their shyness. Will is due his vaccination booster in July and Poppy in August. Is it ok to get them both done in July. Also can anyone recommend a good rabbit savvy vet in Chelmsford, Essex. I am drawn to two that have actually got a rabbit section on their website, and one in particular does its own 24 hour emergency service. These are Elm House Vets and Maldon Road Vet. Just wondered if anyone has knowledge of these or can indeed any other near to me.

I live in chelmsford and i havent found a particular expert in the area but I use companion care in chelmer village - I've been through most of the vets in the area at one time or another and think they are the best  They don't do their own emergency service but they are open 7 days a week so there is less chance of needing to use an emergency vet and I've always been able to get a weekend appointment at short notice if there is an emergency, they're good at squeezing existing clients in if they need to. There are several vets there, I always see Sam, I've built up a really good relationship with her and think she's by far the best bunny vet there. If Sam isn't available I ask to see simone, but normally I can get a same day appointment with Sam if I need to (except now as she's away until the end of April.) Sam is very good at referring and ringing others for advice so I also find that reassuring that she may not be an exotics specialist but she knows how to find out if she needs to. I wouldn't have thought it would be too much of a problem to do one of the boosters a little early.

Alternatively if you're on the south side of chelmsford, Kat at spring lodge in ingatestone is also excellent and is one of the rwaf veterinary support advisors.

Don't know if you've seen the thread, but we are planning an essex meet up on 11th may at the riverside inn. Come along and meet some other bunny crazies :D

Oh, and we need photos of the new arrivals please!
