Some new Hopper Haven bunnies for you all to meet - Hazel & crew (a few :( pics).

donnamt

Wise Old Thumper
In the middle of January Hopper Haven took in a group of 4 young rabbits. The girl that brought them to had been dumped by her boyfriend (who owned them), he moved out and took one rabbit with him and left these 4 behind. She was being threatened with eviction by the landlord if she kept them. The group consists of Hazel who was paralysed as she had suffered some form of injury in her cage - the girl didn't know how it had happened and appears to have never sought vet treatment
Lou suspects that as she jumped in her cage (a Ferplast one) she probably caught her feet in the bars and landed badly with her feet trapped. She had limited movement, was in obvious pain, and had a horribly twisted back. She was vet checked immediately and they ruled out a broken spine, but she has a very bad injury.

Since January she has been kept on her painkillers, and after settling in has had loads of physio.

As she's improved the group have been moved into larger bonding pens, then an indoor stable, and this week have moved to a shed and enclosure  bunny heaven.

Whilst she has a long road to go she has improved immensely, but she has a long battle ahead poor little angel but She's very happy and VERY friendly and loves human interaction, thankfully.

Her buddies include Hyacinth (grey bun) who is blind in one eye, Orchid and Buttercup.

So please meet Hazel

but the story don't end there  there's a new member to the group, a gentleman called Liffey (biggest in group) he is an old blind rabbit who lost his life partner a week after this group arrived.
He was bonded in with them after their 2nd week, and he now loves all of his girls and has a new zest for life. :D

and finally the group helping BB mommy make a new door for their shed - an inquisitive and friendly bunch of bunnies- and Hazel is making good use of the space they have - she must have been in and out of the shed 100 times while making the new door  which is helping her improve her strength. They're all young so hopper haven are hoping they won't all start falling out when they reach neutering age! Fingers crossed this is a group for life!!

hope you have all enjoyed meeting them as much as I have.
I have no words to describe the girl who left a bunny in agony without treatment for god knows how long  but it does look like they have landed on some very lucky paws now.

Any donations to help with Hazels continuing treatment no matter how small would be gratefully received by Hopper Haven and Hazel

aaaaw they are all so cute, poor little hazel some people are just wrong in the head!

Aww Is Hazel expected to regain full use of her legs? Are they staying with you for good?

Lots of vibes for Hazel.:love:

Hazel and Hyacinth were sanctuary status, Orchid and Buttercup have managed to squidge the rules to get in by being part of a group:)

We no longer rehome so they will stay with us for ever:love:

We can't be sure how Hazel' s recovery will go, but we expect She will always have a level of disability.......but we will ensure that she is given the best possible chance of recovery:D
She is a real little sweetheart, and I don't think she realizes that she has a disability, which is great because is great because it means that she keeps on trying

Seeing the miracles Louise worked with Henry and Loki I wouldn't be surprised if the injury becomes barely noticeable :D :D

Oh my goodness I can not believe Hazel was left in that condition :(

Well done for taking them all in, they seem to be enjoying themselves with you :D

Poor Hazel!!! So lucky for her she came to you though. A lovely group of buns. Fingers crossed the physio continues to help improve her mobility.
