  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Sometimes its like a sneezy noise, sometimes just like a sniff.

I thought it could be snuffles, she doesnt have a wet nose, no discharge or mucus, I checked her front feet and they're perfect. No runny eyes.

She doesnt do it often, but its usually when she comes in the living room. I wondering if shes allergic to something?

If the living room is a lot warmer than her usual environment that may irritate her upper respiratory tract. If any smokers use the room that would definitely cause her problems. Allergy to any cleaning products or air fresheners used in the room is another possibility.

If you remain concerned I'd get the Vet to check her over including listening to her lungs with a stethoscope.

I'm booking her in for her vaccs next week after the bank holiday so I'll ask him to take a look :thumb:

My mum goes outside to smoke, it's really horrible and stuffy if she smokes in the living room :| so I had a right good moan a few weeks ago and she doesn't do it anymore.

We don't really use air fresheners, so the only thing could be that its a little warmer in here. I'll still get the vet to have a listen, thanks! xx
