Flooring in dog crates

What flooring do you use in dog crates? I mean as in to make the floor more substantial and not just the rattly thin plastic bottom that's provided when you buy the crates. Has anyone do any DIY jobs on their crates? If you have could I please see pics?

I don't have a dog crate I've added on a play pen to Doughnut's hutch. I have put lino down, it's really easy to clean and sweep up.

She has a fleece in her hutch where she can lay down and sleep on.

I put carpet tiles down for grip and warmth, then fleece and a vetbed in Jessie's, and a big cardboard box stuffed with hay for Harriet and Alfie (they're much more active and love to dig/jump, never been ones for fabric). I wouldn't want to make it too heavy as I like to be able to lift the base to hoover stray poos underneath.
