Hi everyone,
It's exactly a year to the day that I lost my Pixie bunny to E.c and I've just left my wee Nethie Eva in critical condition at the vets. She wasn't eating yesterday evening so I began stasis treatment (meloxicam, metoclopramide, ranitidine, critical care). Still wasn't eating in the early am and became very bloated with hard tummy. No rabbit savvy vet available so I kept her warm through the night and brought her to rabbit specialist first thing.
Vet is very concerned. She's on IV fluids, pain meds and getting x-ray to determine cause of tummy distension. She'd been shedding, so I fear a fur blockage. Vet will call later with an update.
If anyone can offer any advice or happy stories about buns who got through this I'd appreciate it. I can't believe that exactly a year later I'm on the brink of losing another bun. Distraught
