Copper Coated Steel Mesh

Hi, I am new to this forum but have been reading avidly since Christmas. I am going to be adopting 2 bunnies from a local rescue and my carpenter husband is kindly building me a large hutch with a run attached. A friend has offered us some strong mesh (not chicken wire) but it is copper coated steel. I wonder if someone could advise me please whether this is ok and not poisonous for the bunnies.
