  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Spaying prices in uk?

Bunnie

Warren Scout
Does anyone know how much it would cost to spay a bunny in the uk? i know that things are cheaper up north but does that include rabbit spaying (btw i am down south)

Also when should you have her spayed? I have 8 rabbit books and everyone says you should spay at different times?

All depends on your vets prices :) mine were around £50 for spays.

I had my youngest spayed at 6 months old as that's the youngest my vet does females, it depends on when your vet will spay.

I paid about £75 too. Vets prices vary from area to area but also locally I was quoted different prices. I went with the vets who I trusted the most, they weren't the cheapest though.

I'm in Eastbourne with quite a decent vet with fairly upmarket facilities.

Cost is £69.72, includes everything I think including check-ups afterwards and pain relief.

I think the cheapest I've seen close to me is £55 or around that but I couldn't tell you where as I use a different vet everytime one of mine is spayed/neutered  Everywhere else seems to go up to about £65 except a few which are well known for being pricey and they try charge in the £90's
