  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Please send my bunny,Harry, healing vibes. We are into week 3 of his ear infection and despite lots of meds/trips to the vet he is getting worse and is obviously feeling very poorly. My vet is rabbit savvy and doing all she can but to no avail.Im starting think he wont get better.

Thankyou so much everyone.:thumb:Hes so withdrawn and his third eyelids are over this evening. He is an outdoor bun with shed/run/heatlamp/bunny wife (who is fine but having meds to "protect"her)Should I maybe bring him (and wife bun)indoors? The heatlamp is fab but should he be indoors in the warm?Maybe the stress of the move wouldnt actually help:?

I would be very reluctant to move him and risk upsetting him, but someone else may have more advice.

Lots of recovery vibes being sent.

Sending strong healing vibes your way and hope yor baby is better soon. So worrying when they are ill. Going through this myself too with bun recovering after op. It is very stressful. Sounds like you are doing everything you can and hopefully he will recover v soon

Thankyou so much to the 2 people who posted today.Harry is such a happy chap when hes well its horrible to see him like this. Its seems so long since ive seen a binky or side flop:(His eardrops have been changed to "Aurizon".Does anyone have any experience of this med?

Oooh sorry i missed this ...

Noserubs and happy healthy vibes to Harry

Fee xxx

Thanks Fee.Really poorly tonight-may take him to the vet as he seems so low.I think the infection may have gone into his middle or even inner ear.Sadly all this medicating and trips to the vet means hes terrified of me now-he used to be so friendly and loving. His recovery is more important than anything though so thats my priority.

No better this week-in fact id say abit worse.More and more withdrawn and his bunny wife is poorly too-having bloods done for possible liver disease. He absolutely hates me which is heartbreaking as we were so close before-hed follow me everywhere demanding head rubs.:(Hope vet can help us this week.

Sending vibes. I'm going through similar with a very stubborn abcess and its so difficult. I hope you see some change soon x
