  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Worried About Joshua

When we give Joshua treats he often takes them and binkies around and around his room. Sunday night he did that, but caught his foot on his water bowl knocking it over. When we took him downstairs to play he kept flopping and getting up, like he couldn't get comfortable. It was late at night so we couldn't take him to the vet then, but in the morning he was fine and was binkying everywhere. Last night he slipped off the bed while we were giving him a treat and then started acting like he was in pain again.

Right now he is fine, but I am worried. Perhaps I'm being paranoid, but I hate seeing my bun in pain, any clue to what happened to his leg? :(

Could be a numer of things, I'd take him to the vet just to be safe.

He sounds like a right character though!

If you think he's in pain then it's worth a quick trip to the vet just have a look. Silly overexcited bunnies

Thank you both for your responses, we didn't take him to the vet because yesterday he didn't show any signs of pains and was more relaxed then he has ever been. If he starts acting like he is in pain again I will definitely go to the vet.

And Hesperus one time we gave him a huge timothy cube and he tried to run around with that in his mouth  It took him a bit to realize he had dropped it halfway through!
