Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

So we went out for dinner last night. Went out about 8, got home about 11. Had go en the buns their pellets before hand, thinking about it now I didn't see Luna eat any, but she took a treat from me about half an hour before that. Went to give them their veg and Luna wouldn't touch it. Tried parsley, veggies, treats, pellets... Not a thing. Then she just laid down. I was really starting to panic so I thought I'd better have a look at her and check her bum etc. she's still not a touchy girl, won't let me pet or pick her up, but she didn't even flinch as I hauled her up. Took Herron the emergency vet who said bowel motility sounded slightly reduced and gave gut stimulant and pain killer. She started eating parsley on the way home! We have her follow up at 5.40, is there anything I should ask the vet to check or do? Many thanks

has she eaten anything since she saw emergency vet? has she any history of dental problems? Could she have molar spurs that need correcting? Vet should rule out dental issues and she may need more gut stimulant and pain relief. Was she checked for abdominal blockage at emergency vet?

She's eaten like normal since then (she's be back at the vets in a heartbeat otherwise!) she's had no known dental issues (rescued at 10 months old, now 14 months) not sure of the vet checked for a blockage (she had a good feel?!) I'd forgotten about teeth issues, thank you!

Thanks! The vet was actually great, I'll be asking for him again! He gave her a really good check over, said she appears fine and he's given us some of the gut stimulant drug to take for a few days just in case. I wonder if its not hair- she has mid length fur but is shedding like crazy right now! I plan to groom more and sweep out more just in case :thumb:
