Alpha Buck
My bun had a teeth extraction last year and all of her 4 front teeth were extracted. Some time in between the two extractions, she had a "pectus" or "pect" (as the vet called it) growing. It was like a very little tiny tooth on the stop where her upper front tooth was. When the vet was removing her lower teeth she extracted it as well.
Some months have passed and on an x-ray we saw the roots of a new tooth growing on her lower jaw. Now, 2 months later, the tooth showed up. It is still short, but on the X ray the vet said it looks rather normal.
The bone infection that caused the need of the teeth extraction is healed and technically I can see no reason to extract this tooth as well, except that it cannot be properly worn off since there is no tooth above.
We haven't went to the vet since it's nothing bad nor urgent, but I am curious and wanted to ask.
When the tooth gets too big and makes Chrissy's eating more difficult, should it be extracted as well?
Or we should be glad that she has a healthy tooth now and just burr it when needed?
