connecting two hutches

I have two 6 foot hutches id like to connect one is on top of the other but i dont want to lose space by cutting a whole in the floors, ive seen the runaround systems and was wondering if i could use that to help me.
id love some ideas.

yep it can you can put holes in the sides and connect them that way - bunnies can climb up amost vertical pipes apparently.
