  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I need to buy Depocillin online for Darcy. He has snuffles again but after 3 weeks baytril treatment its not getting rid of it. My vet will give me a prescription so am looking online for Depocillin. Please can anyone tell me if these sites are good and also which needle syringes I need to buy to give it to him? Also I would really appreciate advice/tips on how to give it to him??

I posted this on the duplicate thread

Have you given injections before ? If not I would get your Vet to give you a 'lesson' as with Depocillin you need to make sure none leaks back out or that you dont accidentally go into a vein. After injecting it is really important to make sure there is no Depocillin on the skin/fur that Bun or Bun's companion could lick off.

The needles I use are these, you need to use a new needle to inject from the one you use to draw up the dose

My Vet gives me the Depocillin, so I have not bought it online. So I cant say what the company you have linked to is like. The Depocillin is the same as I use though :)
