Back when I was a young thing ( ie 24 and not 28 ) I quite enjoyed a bit of hill walking. My fitness has all gone to pot but we decided to do a small hill today called the Meikle bin which stands around 570m high. Given Sansa is now 13 and the fact neither myself or Stewart is very fit we decided to go for this one.
Sansa leads the way
The bin comes into view
What?
We followed a forestry commission path for much of the way up which made for easy going
However soon a small path zig-zagged out of the trees...
onto the hillside
The summit looked far away
but got closer
The top offered lovely views of the resivoir and the surrounding farms and villages
The left most point of the resivoir was where we'd started from
Sansa looking thrilled
Sansa and me
On the way back we found some snow so Sansa was happy
When we came back we all had a bath (not all at the same time), a nap and some food.
