  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

At first I thought she just had something in her eye but pretty sure now it's not.
Nothing changed in her routine only thing is she's having a massive moult at the moment.

She will be at the vets tomorrow, just wondered if anyone had any ideas in the meantime?

Are you sure it is not just a bit of gunk on her eyeball ?

If you gently close her eye then allow it to open it'll probably have moved.

Some days my hatters eyes look pinker than other days, when it's windy I've started leaving the front window closed on their house because the draught made them look a bit pinker than usual here he is

I've just dished it out actually with some wet cotton wool and it looks like a build up of fluff and gunk in the left eye, maybe linked to her absolutely massive moult!! I think the right eye is just something stuck, she has quite boggly eyes (don't tell he I said so) and it does happen, think I've panicked seeing its both eyes at the same time!
She's all cleaned up now and seems happy enough, ill be keeping a close eye on her though.
