While we were visiting my sister in Shropshire we came back from walking the dog and found this

So we took it to a rescue who are going to worm it, feed it and call my sister in the spring to release it.
 
Good work! :thumb: They're never out in the day unless there's something wrong with them. Gorgeous wee fella!

Definitely too small to hibernate. I used to over-winter hedgehogs for a local rescue. I love them - but their poo stinks!:lol:
 
They shouldn't be out at all at this time of year should they. :shock:

They don't fully hibernate and tend to get up several times and because it's been mild they will get up. It's one of the reasons mild winters are bad for them because they get up too much, there's no food and they are using up their fat reserves by being more active.
