Staying Positive - Photos

Hi all,

It's just occured to me that I haven't posted outside the health forum in months due to Big's continuing struggle again his pneumonia. So in the interests of staying chipper here are a couple of photos I took recently, not that exciting, but cute as ever :)

(Please don't comment on how thin he is :( I know he is and I am working on getting on better)

Ooh, they are both lovely - but especially Big  I do love a Rex  I especially love the photo where they're both looking at the camera, that's an 'Ooh, food?' look if ever I saw one!

I got here via your health thread. I'm sorry to hear Big has been poorly :( but hopefully now he has a diagnosis you will be able to get somewhere, when your vet pulls their socks up. I have to admit that my head was screaming 'heart problems' all the way through your thread so I'm glad it's not that. I agree with Parsnipbun that seeing the specialist directly would be an idea. My sick bun and I regularly took a 30 min walk to our vet so 40 mins in a car isn't too much of a stretch depending on his stress levels.

Re the 'shaking' as he's breathing, does it ever look like this or this or this ? I'm not talking about the sneezing, but more the general rocking motion of the body, easiest to see in the second video I think. These are all mouth breathing rabbits. I thought it might be helpful to add in case you hadn't seen one mouth breathing, as I had no idea that's what it looked like until someone here told me.

Weight wise, I recommend porridge :D I know how difficult it is to keep weight on a poorly bun and my heart goes out to you. If you can eve just keep their weight stable when they're ill that's a big achievement. I used to feed porridge made with water and bits of chopped fruit in, it went down a treat. Lots of love and nose rubs to Big and Littlest Bun (cutest names ever!)

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful bunnies!!! Rex rabbits are officially my fav bunnies! My two boys are half rex. Their Dad was a mini rex and mom was a dutch.

:D:love:

That's great about the vet, how did you get on? Sorry about the vid, it did work the last time I linked it but the owner has changed her settings now. Yeah, the bunny in the first video was probably a bad example, that was her on a really rotten day. Often it was just a very slight tilt in the air as if she was looking up.

Don't worry about the typing, I don't think I would have managed to get as far as you! Can't stand those things

He's a star. Such a trooper. If I do lose him it won't be for want of trying. We've both given 100%, but if this illness really is determined to knock him off him paws at least I'll know it was an evil illness, not lack of love or bunny gumption!
