So you sniff some yummy treats and realise the smell is coming from the coconut... So how do you safely go about getting the treats? I, Grayson, have created this step by step guide for all my hamster relatives around the world...
First, sniff...
Check around the coconut for signs of danger...
Take note of your exits...
See if there is anything safe that you can use to help you climb...
In this instance I decided that the log barrier may be a little unsteady so I used the stretch method...
First put your front paws on the coconut as high up as you can reach...
Using your front paws to pull yourself, stretch your body as much as you can...
Then very carefully lift your back paws onto the coconut, take care to keep your balance as the coconut may roll...
Once you've got your balance, carefully place your front paws inside the coconut...
Now you must carefully pull your whole body into the coconut...
Forget your dignity... (Especially if your a boy like me )
Carefully manoeuvre your body inside the coconut so you can fit your bottom in...
And your in!
Remember that it is dark inside a coconut, and it will take a moment for your eyes to adjust to the light when you look out...
Check that nobody is watching you...
If you find somebody watching, hide...
Keep checking to see if they've gone, but careful they dont see you...
When you've safely eaten or stored your treats you will be tired, but it is very important that you DO NOT FALL ASLEEP INSIDE THE COCONUT! Or someone will wake you up and you will have forgotten why you are in a coconut...
This is very confusing...
And embarassing when you realise someone's been watching you the whole time...
If my guide can help just one hamster with this most difficult task, without making some of the mistakes I made myself, it will all have been worth it. Thank you for reading.
Love, Grayson
(Jackie here... Don't tell Grayson I told you this but he is currently fast asleep in the coconut again! Shhhhh...)
