Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Dwarf Rabbit sneezing. Any help?

I have recently got over a bad cold and my rabbit has been in the house with me during the period when i had this cold (although i did not pick her up often) as i read that rabbits cannot catch the human cold. However, now my rabbit has started to sneeze! Is this because she has been inside for a long period of time (1 week) ? Or has she got the cold from me? She is eating, drinking and pooing fine.

Thanks!

Rabbits cannot catch 'colds' from humans, but they can get upper respiratory tract infections -'Snuffles'

It may well be the change of environment that has triggered your Rabbit's problem, especially if the house has central heating. This dries out the air and some Rabbits really dont cope well with it.

To be sure that your Rabbit does not have an active bacterial infection she needs to be thoroughly examined by a Vet. I would make sure this occurs as soon as possible, even if she seems 'OK within herself'

Good Luck
