  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Advise please!

Rhia went to vets last week for check up (cos of poorlyness in April) he was dead pleased with her,
Doing really well. Opened up this morning to a hutch full of ceacatrophs, very few normal poos. Had nothing different, has had minimal pellets & no veg for a few days. Dunno what to do?

Which pellets does bunny have it might not be the same , but 2 of my bunnys had this problem when I used to feed them Excel pellets I changed them over to SS and touch wood they been good since :)

Not pellets as literally nothing has changed. She was quiet last weekbut she sometimes is & vet said its Ok that she sometimes has herquiet days. He thinks (Prob told you way back when?) that she hasarthritis in her back - suppose it could be that the cold is affectingthat, but it doesnt seem like it, shes certainly as active as sheusually is (Which isnt very lol! Not cos of arthritis tho, just cosshes fat and cant be arsed!)

I suspect her arthritic pain may have become more acute due to the now very cold weather. Is she on daily Metacam ?
