Key hole spaying for does. Is it possible?

A vet near here specialises in doing key hole spays for dogs....well obviously bitches. Thought I'd better clarify that one.

I wonder whether or not it would be possible for does?

My friend has a tiny little Jack Russell who is going to have a key hole spay. The dog is smaller than many bunnies.

Would there be any reason why this couldn't be carried out on does?

Less intrusive and no doubt less risk involved.

My (limited) understanding is that keyhole spaying does not remove the uterus, it simply ties off/removes the ovaries. Given that aside from pregnancy prevention, a key reason for spaying does is to prevent uterine cancer, keyhole spaying would not achieve that because the uterus is left in place. Iimagine that the same is true of pyometra, I don't know what the incidence of these would be in dogs compared to bunnies.
