  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Binky seems out of sorts

Every night when I get home from work, Binky and Bailey are sleeping together on their chair.

The last two nights, Bailey has been on the chair, but Binky, at the other end of the room, around the corner, in their tort/food area. Just sitting, not in the litter tray, just on the floor. I guess she is sleeping, but isn't in the corner or against wall like usual.

I picked her up and gave her a couple of pellets which she ate. Then some hay which she eats some of. Then she just sleeps in the litter tray in the corner. To be fair, Bailey is asleep, just in her usual place.

I think that is what is bothering me, that she is not following her usual routine. She doesn't seem as interested as usual.

If she carries on like this I will pop to the vets, just wondered if it might be time or year or dark nights? Anyone else's buns changed their habits recently?

may be worth gettng a vet check, hopefully its nothing vut cant do any harm even to put your mind at rest

Thanks for asking - she seems totally normal!

I think it might be the dark nights - me arriving home is obviously a 'key part' of their day haha -- and I normally arrive home in daylight!
