How high should a hutch be off the floor?

Is it just to prevent damp seeping in? Would 2 inches be enough? Hoping to put the hutch in the run but the hutch is 2ft tall, and the run is 2ft 3 tall.

So far as I'm aware yes, it's just to stop the floor getting damp and rotting so I think a couple of inches is fine. Our shed is on 4 x 2 inch wood. When that rots you replace that not the bottom of the hutch/shed.

Our hutch is about 4 inches (give or take) off of the floor and haven't had any problems

Yes but be careful, they might squeeze under there and you'll find it hard to get them out

I would rest the hutch on some pieces of timber which are treated in a pet safe treatment that are around the size of 44x44mm.
