  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ginger's had a flare up of her pasteurella. Quite a bad one.

We were at the vets at 5pm last night, lots of examination and help cleaning her up. She was a mess by the time we got there. Eyes streaming horribleness, white discharge from nasal area, had to put her on nebuliser whilst there to help her breathing.

She was fine the evening before. Should of gone in the morning, but she wasn't too bad, still bright and bouncy just a bit snuffly, and we had other things to do. It came on so quickly :(

She'd been doing so well too...got a bit complacent :(

Onto a weeks course of baytril so tehre is something in her system whilst they order in the azithromycin.

She's currently fast asleep on the carpet in the office, very quiet and peaceful at the moment with snuffly breathing :(

Poor Gingerpops.

Anyone fancy thinking of her?

Gingerpops  bless you little snuffly sweetie. Hope you feel better soon and your medicine helps!

Ah poor little Ginger. I was missing your postings as I don't get to see a photo of my favourite bunny

Hope she's OK and gets well soon. Keep us posted as she is much loved on here.
