What do you wish you hadn't bought?

Hoppit!

Wise Old Thumper
With Christmas coming I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread of rabbity things that we wish we hadn't wasted our money on. I'll start:

Salad sticks

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgu...cifULzsEsqI0AW2v4GQDA&ved=0CDEQ9QEwAg&dur=933

Snuggle tunnel

http://www.petshop4pets.co.uk/dwarf-rabbit-or-guinea-pig-snuggle-tunnel-1638-p.asp

Chew and roll

I can't think of any more right now but I know there've been loads!

great idea :thumb:
I don't think there's actually anything I've bought that I wish I hadn't, but I think this thread could be very useful!

I wish I had just gone ahead and bought a shed for floppy rather than a hutch.

the particular deisgn we bought means its a total faff trying to remove the run from the hutch to get hutch and litter tray cleaned daily. My son currently climbs in the run to get access to the hutch and does it that way. If i tried, I'd get stuck!!!! Its a fab excuse for him to get a couple of rabbit kisses from Floppy while he's in there.....

Sheds coming shortly but would have saved ourselves a fortune if we'd done this in the first place

Fee xx

Maybe it'd be useful to say why you wish you hadn't bought them as well? :)

A friend bought me the snuggle tunnel thing - it is pretty useless  It doesn't stand up of it's own accord, Hopscotch can barely fit through it, it's (obviously) very short, and he spends more time trying to chew on it than go through it!

I did buy him the chew and roll though, he has liked chewing and throwing it around, although I've had 2 (one multi coloured like the one linked, and one plain wooden one) and neither of them have actually fitted together properly, so it won't roll around! He also likes dropping the multi coloured pieces into his water bowl which dye the water

we gave up buying any sort of toy for the buns very early on - they are just not interested.

Same here. Although if I marketed my "Series of Frames Designed to Protect the Rosemary Bushes" (now twigs ) as an adventure/problem-solving toy I'd make a fortune - the buns never leave them alone...

ETA So I guess mine would be rosemary bushes.... :?

The castle den available online at many places. It's very glossy cardboard and so very slippery. Also the tabs that keep it together get broken and torn when buns shove the castle in any way. Failed miserably for us.
Also any fruit/willow sticks bought in a plastic packet. In my experience these need to be fresh or are ignored.
Anything made of that 'loofah' type stuff. Just get covered in fluff and completely ignored.
The weighted treat ball that's supposed to be tipped and thus produce the treats we put inside. Like a 'weeble' but not as fun. My buns get bored after a couple of shoves. Tried 4 buns now-all hated it.
Ditto ANY treat ball.
Ditti all that's said on the green snuggle tunnel. It's slippery and doesn't keep a 'scent' which may be why only 1 of my buns has ever liked it and I think that was only as he was so wonderfully kind he'd try anything once. Too small for anyone french lop plus.

I was thinking of getting a snuggle tunnel of amazon, won't bother now  thanks for saving me a tenner;)

Mine have quite enjoyed the chew and roll. Like Helennnnnnnnnn said it doesn't roll and doesn't fit together too well, but even once it fell apart they still enjoyed the odd nibble. Bit of a waste of money but not as bad as some of the other things I've bought!

For me:

Soft comfy beds. Must have spent about £50 on them but they all just get peed on and I end up chucking them

Vet bed. Just gets peed on and goes gross, have to chuck that out too. Same with blankets!

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/food/rabbit/other_rabbit_foods/169925 Couldn't fit anything in it!

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/accessories/tunnels/tunnels/227525 Too small for them to go under, not strong enough to hold their weight

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/accessories/tunnels/tunnels/118659 Great idea but it was very very easily chewed and I got very worried about them ingesting the bits. Although I heard a while ago they were making a revamped version which they said would be stronger.

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/toys_transport/rabbit_toys/13210 Couldn't fit much in these, although I now see they do 12cm diameter ones which look a lot better - infact I might buy one!

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/toys_transport/rabbit_toys/14544 - Good idea and they loved it while they were on P@H pellets, but their science selective ones don't fit in there! Instead I got this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wobbling-...et_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item3a6c3012fd which is fab.

I once bought Sonic this weird salt lick thing... like Sheltie had in the childrens books! I assembled the clip and attached it to the hutch.

Then it rained and dissolved... Within about an hour.

I'll stick to yoghurt drops for treats...

Pippin has no interest in it whatsoever. Jumped on top a few times but never ever went in it. Recently took it out as it was just taking up space.

Just so you know, I have the 12cm diameter ball and I really like it, you can get loads in! I can imagine a smaller one being useless though. Pippin loves it too :)

Floppy was too big to fit through hole so he threw it and it split!!,!
