Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hello guys

Oscar is still not eating and has had to go to the vets everyday since the spadeing. she had to be kept in all day yesterday so the nurses at the vets could keep an eye on her and force feed her. She came home last night and the vet gave us some recovery food (which has to be syringed into her mouth , which she hates!) The vet said the stitches are healing nicely and that she seems bright but getting so worried now. she is not pooin much.....not drinking much and not wanting to eat. When we get her out she still seems pretty lively tho, but when we put her back she just sits in her corner. In the last 3 days i have got her, cabbae, carrots, apples, bannanas, curly cale, celery, and basil and she just want eat anything! :(

any help what can i do from here? do i just have to wait now and she if she eats or chooses to starve to death? i feel that the stress of going to vets everyday probably isnt helping :(

yep we have been giving her 36ml of liquid painkillers every mornin so far. seems to be the only thing she willt take with a syringe.

I hope she's feeling better soon!

Try porridge oats soaked in warm water from the kettle.
