I tried bonding a quad (2 males and 2 females, all neutered and approx 2 years of age) both were male/female pairs originally.
I tried bonding them in about July time and all seemed to go well for a week, then at about day 6 the 2 girls must have had a barney over night as I came in to find Lily with a bloody ear and a cut leg, Isabelle had a couple of wounds but nothing major. Patch and Jasper were fine and cuddled next to each other, and looked at me as if to say "girls eh?"
So I split them back to their original pairs. I would love to have them as a 4 as they would have so much more space as I could join their run areas (and the bit between the runs currently).
Would you risk trying again now their hormonal season is over? Or would you leave them as 2 pairs?
I can't make my mind up whether to risk it or not...
