Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How do you do it?? I need to keep weighing rosey and no matter what I use she just jumps/flips around and it ends without her being weighed! What are your tips? I have digi kitchen scales but i cant seem to find the right sort of container as she doesnt fit in the one that is meant for them :?

I am weighing all 4 of mine regularly at the moment, as Bugs and Chloe have become a bit chunky.

The way I do it:

kitchen scales with a large plastic mixing bowl on it and tare/zero scales.. Then weigh an empty cardboard pet carry box and make note of the box's weight.

Remove box.

Then put a bunny in the box, as if you were off to vets, but now weigh bunny in box ( by putting box on top of bowll) and make note of that weight!

Note..the bunny may move around a bit in the box, so be ready to steady the box...and wait for balance reading to settle ( mine are digital)

Then subtract the weight of box. Ta Da ...bunnies weight with less stress!

I've been weighing our baby bunny each week to keep record of her growth.

Using my dad's fishing scales which has a hook at the bottom to use a weighing sling, we place our bunny in one of those Jute bags.

She's really good at being weighed, though I suppose as she gets bigger we might have to think of another method.

Weighing on normal scales whilst holding then taking off your own weight worked for me too. Helps if you have digital scales.
